About Mappenform

Mappenform is a German-language web application that generates a formatted PDF document. This page describes the product in English — for payment providers, partners and anyone assessing what exactly is being sold here.

What the product does

People applying for a rented flat in Germany are expected to hand the landlord a tidy set of documents. Most applicants assemble this by hand in a word processor, and it looks like it. Mappenform replaces that: the user fills in a form, the application lays the information out using one of three typographic templates, and the user downloads the finished PDF.

Everything runs client-side. The form data is processed in the user’s own browser, the PDF is rendered on their device, and no personal data is stored on our servers. There is no account and no login.

What is delivered, and how

A single digital file. Delivery is instant and fully automatic — the user clicks download and has the PDF. A free tier produces a complete document with a basic template; a one-time payment of 7.99 EUR unlocks the additional templates and colour schemes, support for a second applicant, attaching the user’s own documents into one PDF, and removal of the footer branding. There is no subscription.

What Mappenform is not

Not a service.Nobody works on an order, reviews a submission or produces anything on the customer’s behalf. The customer operates the software and the software produces the output — functionally the same category as a résumé or invoice generator.

Not real estate. We do not list, broker, rent out or manage property. We are not a party to any tenancy agreement, we take no commission, and we have no relationship with any landlord or letting agent. The users are private individuals preparing their own paperwork.

Not credit or tenant screening.We have no integration with SCHUFA or any other credit bureau, no API access to credit data, and we neither assess nor score anyone’s creditworthiness. Our German guide page about SCHUFA is purely educational — it explains which of the two available documents an applicant should obtain themselves, and warns against over-sharing the more detailed one. The application never retrieves, verifies or evaluates such a document; if the user chooses to attach a file they already possess, it is merged into the PDF on their own device.

Who operates it

Mappenform is operated by Tjaard Lenk, a sole trader registered with the trade office of the city of Kiel, Germany. Full provider identification is in the Impressum (mandatory under § 5 DDG), alongside terms of service, right-of-withdrawal information and the privacy policy.
